When you break up with someone, you're supposed to be 'big' about it and 'do lunch' a few weeks later to catch up and show that everything is fine.

When someone lies to you or stabs you in the back, you're supposed to be 'big' about it and move on.

It's horribly uncouth to be immature about something or show your feelings at inappropriate times. 

I can't figure out why.

Sometimes you just want to yell at someone because they're a moron and forget about being 'big about things'.

Our culture is somewhat quirky compared to others because we tell children to act like adults but then treat them like children. 

This is the source of many of the problems of adolescence and role crises.

Once we are an adult, however, we're never supposed to act like children again.

We can't throw temper tantrums and we can't cry loudly in public when we aren't happy and people look at you REALLY funny if you start screaming because you lost a balloon.

I would like to STOP being 'big' about things.

Just sometimes, I want to say, "Fuck you, you shouldn't have done that" and add a few other nasty words and run away screaming.

I think that would make a lot of us feel better.

The world doesn't have to be a black and white movie and I bet something your
life is colourful, just look for it. Your mood swings are disastrous and you love your family.
